The music of John Wilson can be described as a soulful spiritual journey. While observing, one is moved by his mellow ballads and motivated by the high powered up tempo arrangements. Demonstrating his versatility, John has worked with such artists as Elton John, Labelle, Sarah Dash, Vicki Sue Robinson, Hiroshima, The New York Community Choir, and the Rev. James Cleveland. He has sang lead and background on two Savoy albums,Come and Stroll Down Blessing Boulevard and If You Need A Blessing. He has written Til The End Of Time and Time Is Winding Up on these albums. He is the 2003 Tiffany Gospel Award Winner/Favorite Gospel Vocalist . His theater experience includes the leading role in A Hot Summer Night as well as numerous leads and singing roles in one of the longest running Off-Broadway plays Mama I Want To Sing. He is currently in the musical plays God's Trombones, Tambourines To Glory and as a special musical guest performer in James Baldwin's The Amen Corner.

The next phase in Wilson's career was the joint creation of Right Combination, a two part singing duo. With this new vocal direction which includes development of a five piece band, his goal was to gain experience and exposure. Right Combination released their single Enough is Enough, toured Japan, and has won several singing contests Consistently striving for excellence, Wilson helped perfect Right Combination's stage act and has performed at various New York City entertainment hot spots. They have appeared with Sarah Dash (formerly of Labelle) at the Ritz, Tatou's, Tramps, Perk's, Royston's, Nassau Coliseum and New York Live. Right Combination has been cited by many in the music industry as The Act To See The unexpected death of his singing partner has created yet another direction for John.

While continuing to use his song writing, arranging , acting, performing and producing skills, John has proven he has the perseverance and persistence needed in the music industry. Wilson has taken his new act to places such as Bobby Jones Gospel International Artist Retreat, The Jacob Javits Convention Center Kwanzaa Fest , Macedonia Center, Memorial field, WBLS Gospel USA Concert, Gospel Night Clubs, Brunches, Kwanzaa Fests, Churches, and Events in various cities in the United States. He has recently completed three Gospel CD single projects, Praise Him, Rock and Roll for Jesus and This is the Place to be, which can be heard in New York on 107.5 fm (WBLS), 970 am(WWDJ), 1240 am,(WGBB ), 90.3 am,(WHRC), 910am,(WRKL) 97.1 fm & 102.3 fm (KGMS) in (Tucson Arizona)as well as stations in the east and west coast region. Wilson's video, This Is The Place To Be is being aired on See How It Is video show, Ch16 (Manhattan Cable),Ch51 (Tkr, Comcast Of Jersey City), Ch27(Jones Intercable in Albuquerque), Ch77, Ch43 and Ch98 (Cable Vision in Yonkers) and Inspirational Soul video show, Ch 35(Time Warner in Manhattan), Ch 80"Gospel News TV Show". He is currently working with his Gospel group, Divine Power, while working on soundtracks and acting in movie projects. John has presently finished his 12 song solo CD project The Journey Continues and his 13 song CD project, All Things Are Possible. He has released 3 new CD singles I See You Going Up, God Help Us ALL and He Will Not Change
